Learn to see simple shapes and values to create plein aire landscape paintings with pastel. You'll be introduced to techniques, color theory and mixing. You'll love to create while surrounded by nature in the mountains of North Carolina.
Pat's goal as an artist is to arrest nature’s motion, involving viewers as deeply as I can. She leaves behind traces of feelings associated with her experience of each scene; sharing her vision of beauty and grace expressed through color and form.
Pat was born in New York and studied at the City University of NYC, then received graduate degrees from Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
She taught for 36 years for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and a professor at Barry University for 16. She currently teaches at the University of Miami's Osher Institute.
Pat has been selected as an artist-in-residence at 15 National Parks. Her works have been featured in exhibitions around the globe.
